I’m Boring!

On Wednesday, I had an ultrasound to see how my girlie bits were healing. My doctor said that everything looks good, including my lining, and I am officially back to being a boring patient. Yipee!! I asked Chuck if he had any more questions and he proceeded to ask my doc if she could recommend an optometrist.

My sweet Chucklebutt has been running around for almost a month with serious ghetto glasses. He is missing the right end piece completely and the lenses are attached with a wing, a prayer and some strategically placed scotch tape. Imagine something between Revenge of the Nerds and Inspector Clouseau (you know — a monocle?). When I greet him now I usually say, “Good evening Inspector.” He doesn’t think it’s funny. Oh yeah, and then on Saturday night, the late night waitress at Denny’s asked him what sorta of statement he was trying to make. I guffawed! Chucklebutt wasn’t amused. 😀

We had a very busy weekend complete with driving back and forth to Phoenix. Chuck’s show opened to rave reviews and it has actually been held over another weekend. (Mind you that doesn’t apply to us because we are getting the heck out dodge come Friday!) I saw the show on Saturday night and thought everyone did an excellent job. The play is called The Tears of Our Lives and it is a very complicated story about undocumented workers, their families, deportations and the Maricopa Sheriff’s Department. As you can imagine it is a very politically charged piece. I thought the show did a very good job of putting a human face on a very complicated issue.

Here’s a photo Chuck took for the show.  If you visit New Carpa’s web site, or The Tears of Lives page on their site, you can see more photos he took during rehearsals.

We got home pretty late and as we were crawling into bed, Chuck asked me what day of the week it was. When I told him Saturday he flipped out. Apparently he was 30 minutes late to a conference call. He didn’t go to bed until 10:30am!! And then he only got 1 1/2 hours sleep because he had to be back at the theatre by 1pm. He had a heck of a time with the folks at his work. Mind you I know nothing about my beloved job, but from what I can gather, the conversation went something like this:

Chuck: Server “A” has a problem with component “B.” The problem is xyz.

Unknown Tool: How do you know that? You don’t work with that component. We need to run some tests to figure out the problem…

Chuck: The problem is xyz, and I need you to blah, blah, blah to fix it.

Unknown Tool: Now see here. We’re going to run some diagnostic tests…blah, blah, blah…oh hey, we have a bit of a problem. We’re going to need to call the vendor.

Chuck: The problem is xyz.

Unknown Tool: We’ll get back to you.

(Continues…  Finally, over EIGHT HOURS later…)

Vendor: We have determined the problem is xyz.

Unknown Tool: Yes, we agree, the problem is xyz.

Chuck: I told you over 8 hours ago that the problem was xyz, and even told you how to fix it.

Unknown Tool: Oh…  Yeah…  Umm…  Well, we didn’t understand what you meant.

Chuck: grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

(End Scene.)

On Sunday night, after I picked Chuck up from the show, we went swimming at my work. I told Chuck he had better behave so we wouldn’t wake up any of the old folks. The water was perfect! We even took a dip in the hot tub. Ahhhhh! I love water.

When we got home it was after 12am and Chuck talked me into watching Defiance. If you haven’t see it, I highly recommend it. It was awesome!

Scooter kept me company while I was hunkered down.

I must say, Scout NEVER hangs out like this.  The only reason she is sitting next to me is, like her mother, she loves homemade quilts.   I love this one and got it for 12 bucks at a yard sale.  Who throws away such works of art?!?!?!  Oh wait, I know — Chucklebutt.  He was going to throw away two gorgeous quilts because, “that’s just not his thing.”  Sheesh!

I’ll leave everyone with some pics of my ladies’ wreaths that they’ve worked so hard on:

I am so proud of them!  Have a good week everyone!

Those wreaths are much better then the ones the other people did a the retreat. You tell your ladies that I think they are wonderful. I love them. They are more colorful then any others. You should make it a point to try and swim several times during the week. Chuck could ride one of his three bikes and meet you there. Sounds like fun.
