Last week, we made official contact with Remy. I don’t think he was very impressed with us and I haven’t seen him since. Perhaps a little groping was all he needed to find another home. We have had tremendous rain here in the valley and I was checking on the grill to see if it was completely flooded. Low and behold, our little rodent friend was home and Chucklebutt and I gave him a little pet. I think what really got him, however, was when Chuck decided to pick him up . . . by his TAIL! He was not amused and I think I could hear him shouting, "MY TAIL! MY TAIL! THEY’VE GOT MY TAIL!" Don’t worry, it didn’t hurt him, but like I said, I haven’t seen him since.
Because of all the rain, we’ve had some most unusual visitors.
Holy Cow! That has got to be the biggest frog/toad I have ever seen.
Hey look! It’s the Keeper of the Frog. (It’s weird Chucklebutt humor and I think only Christine will get it.) You’ll have to excuse the photos. We took them with our camera phones. We were coming in late one night, and he was sitting outside our door. Like Remy, he wasn’t very impressed with us either. As soon as Chuck picked him up, he promptly peed everywhere. He was so cool!
Well, Chucklebutt is getting ready for his big run around the United States. Five days, five thousand miles. Whew! Better him than me. I’ve been helping him plot out his route and so has Scout.
Isn’t she cute? Our girls are so funny. As soon as they see papers laid out, they must be sitting on them. It’s a weird feline thing.
This picture cracks me up. It looks like she’s contemplating the red flag at the tip of Florida. For 3500 points, Chuck could tear ass down to Key West during his run. Scooter is probably thinking that’s not the best idea on account of Gustav. Don’t worry, he isn’t going there.
Now Daisy gets in on the act.
Psst Scout! You smell good.
Anyway, he is heading out in another two hours — which will make it 12am Monday. He always pushes it to the last minute. He has to check in by 5pm up in Salt Lake. He’s got a 14 hour drive ahead of him and he hasn’t had a nap. Sigh.
On a better note, most of his test results came back great. Apparently the tech read his kidney ultra sound incorrectly and he doesn’t have a blockage. Yipee! He does have a "fatty liver" and can control it with diet and excercise. He also just had another PSA test done and we should hear the results next week. So, it seems to be a kink in the road of life, but not a major detour.
I’m fading, but thought I’d leave folks with some of my new found treasures. I didn’t go thrifting the entire month of July. So I had to make up for it in August. 😀
I got the old children’s book for a quarter at the Lutheran Thrift Store. It’s dated 1929.
I love old mismatched china pieces. They make for a real pretty table setting.
I’m ready to have a tea party! Who wants to join me?
Is there anything better than old sheet music? I love it!
Well, I need to go take a nap before I help Chuck focus his head lights. Sounds naughty, but it isn’t.
Have a Safe and Happy Labor Day everyone.
You’re going to get warts!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Labor Day! I had a class at one today and missed your call. I am going to Shirley’s house for dinner. I’m bring the Silver Queen corn. Yummmmmmmmmm………………….
Where the heck do you guys live? I have never even seen a little frog in Arizona. That is a Texas sized toad! Chuck, be careful!
