Caught in the Act!

So this past weekend, I caught Remy in the act of building his nest. He was absolutely adorable and I haven’t the heart to evict him just yet. I have some yummy Tilapia that should be grilled, but I think I’ll wait a few more days. Check him out!

Yes, that’s our little rodent friend peering out from under the grill cover.  He would wait a few seconds and then make a mad dash to the bean pods, scoop some up in his mouth and then run like hell back to the grill.  Too cute.  Scooter was pretty intent on Remy’s movements.

Okay, now you must check out the video.  It’s not perfect, but you can see Remy in action.  Scout makes a cameo and isn’t very impressed.

Kim from Mystic Paper thinks it’s a lost cause and we should just buy another grill.  Mom says we should bring the old grill back out and try to get him to roost in it.  Any other ideas?

I thought I could get some good shots of him with Chuck’s super duper camera, but no such luck.

Yesterday, Chucklebutt and I headed to Payson in search of waterfalls.  We rented a car (Mitsubishi Galant) and got a late start.  Why did we get a late start?  Because Chuck is —

hahahahahhahahaahahhahahahahhhahah!  Chuck isn’t laughing, but Mom and Christine are!  😀

Anyway, we had a good time although I didn’t realize it until after the fact.  I was sorta pissy when we got to the creek and discovered it was dry as a bone.  Poo!  We did have some nice scenery and ran into some interesting locals.

The car was awesome!  The ac worked so well, Chuck and I actually got cold.  The directions were a little sketchy but all the land marks were accurate.  We had to park next to a green gate and then walk the rest of the way.  The creek was off of three dirt roads.

As I rounded the corner of this path, we ran into the locals.  I didn’t see them at first until Chuck pointed them out.  They were so close we could reach out and touch them.

Who ever thought I would be scared of some cows?  But there were no fences and boy were they BIG!  I could just see them charging us.  We walked very carefully and held our breaths.

Shhhhh Jiggle Puff!  Don’t want to scare the big old beast!

Thank you Chucklebutt for a fun adventure!  It was his idea to rent the car.  While we didn’t find water yesterday, he thought it would be a good idea to get up early and go swimming up at the lake.  It was a perfect morning.  We had a great time and I wish I had my camera on account of all the vultures flying above the lake.  You’re a peach Chucklebutt!

Have a great week everyone!

Pray for Chucklebutt

We at the Gibson-Rice household have been dealing with some funky health problems lately.  It seems that I have uterine fibroids which will need sugery before we have any little Jiggle Puffs (Chuck calls them Puff ‘n Stuffs) and Chuck has elevated PSA levels and some crazy readings on his liver.  Whew!  As our good buddy Christine says, what’s the desert doing to us?!?!

Between the two of us, we are getting our money’s worth from our insurance company — ultra sounds, MRI’s, blood tests.  Poop!  Tomorrow Chuck has an ultra sound on his liver so please keep him in your thoughts.  As far as the PSA levels are concerned, he had another blood test this morning, and the doctors are hoping it’s nothing more than a mild infection that can be remedied with antibiotics.  Hmmm.  So we’re sorta thoughtful here in the Junction.  Hopefully this is just a little kink on our journey and not a major detour.

I’ll leave everyone with my project I finished last night for the Mind Wide Open Challenge.  Chuck took some super duper shots of it!

We were given an image and a word — “secret” — and then given free rein to create a piece of art.  I had such a good time creating this.  It now hangs in our entryway.

TGIF!
