Pretty Pics

Here are the photos of my Tim Holtz project as well as some still life photos that Chucklebutt shot for me.  My project  is titled “Laughing and happy on the restless deep.”  That is the text across the skeleton.

Making this shadow box was super fun.  We were given a plain wooden box and then beaucoup embellishments.  During this project, I discovered the joys of alcohol inks.  Oh my gosh!  They are so amazing and will paint anything!  The feet of the box, the wings, the skeleton and even the die are all colored by alcohol inks.

We were given the choice to utilize a skeleton or a bird.  Originally I thought I wanted to make this sweet bird scenario, however after seeing the skeleton, I knew that Chuck would appreciate the macabre much more.  It now sits on his dresser.

Oh yeah, and it lights up!  I love the bottles of “poison.”  The magnifying glass is for the old filmstrip on the right.

I love this photo.  I found all the items recently either at Goodwill or at Merchant Square in Chandler.  The booties are especially precious!

I am obsessed with buttons.  I don’t think you can ever have too many.  Since I’ve finally gotten my sewing machine up and running, I need to start incorporating all my buttons into my art.

Another pretty set of booties.  I found all the lace at the Antique Trove in Scottsdale.  I am also a fanatic for vintage lace.  I have so many visions and now I just need the time to see them to fruition.

On a photographic note, Chuck has been working for the Apache Junction/Gold Canyon Independent Newspaper as a correspondent.  I am so very proud of him.  He actually had a picture on the front page last week.  Next stop — The New York Times!
