I was delightfully surprised a week ago when I called Mystic Paper to confirm my class schedule and Kim proceeded to tell me she was looking at my art work in Somerset. I was totally confused and thought she was referring to my Halloween Book. I’m sure she thought I was a complete dingbat, but eventually we figured out that my advent calander had been published, but the folks at Somerset had failed to let me know. Talk about total shock. I was floating on cloud nine.
A whole page! I feel so special.
I need to give the folks at the UPS store a copy. Everything is attached to the box, and they did a rockin’ job of shipping it. Thanks Kim for letting me know! I would have no idea until I got around to buying the issue.
Last Saturday I took an amazing class with Chris Randall. She taught us how to make tea cup chandeliers. It was super fun and I am already planning to make more for Christmas gifts. I also got to meet the incredible Maija of Maigirlz Madness. I love her blog and it was great sharing a soldering iron with her! Check out my masterpiece.
I bought all the teacups either at Goodwill or the antique store and paid a mere pittance for them. The chandelier I purchased at a Flea Market for seven bucks! Chris provided all the fun crystals.
My favorite part was making charms. I am completely addicted to soldering. The possibilities are endless. It’s a bit overwhelming. Anyway, I downloaded a whole bunch of fairy images from online and created four charms. I think it needs more and hopefully when I get a bit more time I will add them.
This is my favorite tea cup. The one in the background is Chuck’s.
It’s hard to get a picture of the whole chandelier, but you get the idea. It is my first step in turning our Living Room into a Shabby Chic Haven. Little does Chucklebutt know. Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
The weekend is over — boy it goes so fast! Chuck has another show opening this week and I am busy working on my own two shows. Mom comes to visit on the 20th and we have a ton of stuff to do before she gets here. Wish us luck. Happy Monday!
Nicole, thank you for sharing and submitting your wonderful Advent calendar. You gave me the courage to do one myself. I have had a plain calendar for 9 months and I finally did it!!! You are an inspiration. Also thank you for sharing your time and wonderful ideas with me in the Chandelier class.

I just saw your picture of the advent in the Somerset Studio! It’s beautiful! I have that same Advent Calandar that I’ve been saving since I found it at a yard sale this summer……I never got around to do ing anything with it! When I saw the picture my heart stopped because this is exactly what I had in my brain!
I had to “google” your name and found you thru a comment you left on someones blog!
I enjoyed visiting here today!
Happy Holidays!
