Wedding Bells and Craft EnvyLast weekend Chucklebutt and I went to our dear friends’ wedding. Chuck had the honors of shooting the ceremony (I had to work in the morning) and then we got our swim on that night. Check out Chuck’s mad photo skills.I met Beck (the gal on the right) six years ago — I can’t believe it’s been that long. We were in the same MFA class together and she is amazing. Her partner (Elizabeth, on the left) is equally amazing and they make a super special pair (much like the Jiggle Puff and Chucklebutt). 😀There were quite a few hours between the ceremony and the reception, so Chuck came home and worked really hard on the above collage. He bought a really pretty frame and had it for the happy couple at their reception. Everyone got a bit teary-eyed.The reception was super casual and there were games at each table. How fun is that? The food was yummy and I ate two pieces of cake. This beautiful lady was/is my favorite professor in graduate school. Tamara taught Research Methods and Theatre History and I learned more about analytical thinking in her two classes than in my whole schooling career. She rocks! As the sun was setting, we all made our way to the roof of the hotel. It was a gorgeous site. We could actually see the ferris wheel for the State Fair.Check out that lens Chucklebutt has!! He actually had two camera bodies and looked muy professional. That’s Phoenix’s skyline in the back. The pool was awesome. They had tiny little lights at the bottom of the pool which looked like stars in the night sky. The pool was cooooooooooold! But once we were in for a while it wasn’t so bad — I guess everything had gone numb. Once we were done swimming, we soaked in the hot tub. Delicious!A good time was had by all and the newly married couple are honeymooning in Hawaii. They are renting a time share and said we were more than welcome to join them next week. Chuck even went so far as to look at plane tickets, but alas I have three shows next week. Poop. I told Chuck I would take a raincheck. So as far as craft envy is concerned — all the gals are coming back from Silver Bella and oh how I wish I could have gone. I told Mom that next year we would be there. Sigh. I guess I’ll just have to live vicariously through all the belles’ blogs. Can you say that 5 times fast? 😀I cooked some yummy risotta this weekend and I had Chuck snap a few shots. It’s made with red and yellow peppers and fontina cheese. Delish! Finally, most of you know that Chuck is participating in a once-a-day-photo-thingy on Flickr. He’s done some really nice shots so make sure that you check them out. I leave you with yesterday’s post. It’s a “Woody” asking one of my paper dolls for a dance. This was one of the dolls I received from Danielle’s swap. It’s courtesy of Byranna.Have a great week everyone! 😀 |
