I certainly hope that everyone’s New Year is going swimmingly! We got off to a rocky start — the loss of our dear, sweet Daisy Girl — but are enjoying the rest of what life has to offer. I’ve discovered “Angry Birds” and am hopelessly addicted. One of our winter visitors introduced me to it. Little did I realize that Chuck had the app. on his Droid. We’re a one smart-phone family. He gets to have all the fun while I can do is make phone calls. 😀
While I know that are super late, I thought I would share some of our Christmas pictures. We drove to Asheville — that was an experience and a half — and had a white Christmas!! It couldn’t have been more perfect.
My mother’s home is precious. It looks just like a doll house. The snow started early morning Christmas Day.
Of course we had to have a photo shoot!
Like peas and carrots!
Mom took this picture just as I was pelting Chucklebutt.
Don’t worry, he got me back.
Who is that strange man with my Mama? Why it’s her new boyfriend!! He is super sweet and they are just like two teenagers. I am really happy for her, although it was a little strange at first. I’ve only known my mama with my daddy. His name is Buddy and Chuck and I had a good time teasing her while we were home. I kept wanting to sing the following:
Mom set a gorgeous table.
My Bopka (grandmother) made these napkin rings and I have always loved how the light reflects off of them. Chuck thinks I’ve lost my mind.
After dinner, Mom and Buddy went and hung out in the living room, while Chuck and I cleaned the kitchen. Well, while Chuck did the kitchen and I entertained. 😀
After we cleaned up, it was time to open presents. This was the year of banshees, zombies and skulls.
MMMMAAAAAAAAA!
UUUUUHHHHHHHH!
EEEEEEEEEE! Do you know The Walking Dead? It is my favorite show on TV and now my favorite reading material. Chuck gave me three anthologies and I read them all in three days.
Mom gave Chuck these awesome cupcake holders.
How cool are those? I can’t wait to make some yummy brains!
Mom gave me a Madame Alexander Irish Banshee — a harbinger of death! I wonder if she was trying to tell me something. She is beautiful, complete with spooky red eyes.
I made Mom a layered cake made from foofy boxes. This is the only picture I have of it.
After all the festivities, Chucklebutt and I headed outside to do some serious sledding. We had a blast and tried doing some Johnny Knoxville moves. It was awesome!
Happy Belated New Year to everyone! I’m going to try and be better at blogging, however I wouldn’t hold my breath. 😀
I am so glad you have posted! I don’t have any of the pictures you posted. I’ll have to ask Chuck if he down loaded them to my computer.
Missing you every day!
BME
What fun!! We even had snow in Summerville! Granted we enjoyed it at mom and dads. It’s always fun reading your blog. Except when you put things in like the my buddy commercial. I didn’t even have to open it to get that song in my head. What an awful earworm!! Love you much!
You are living such a wonderful life, Nicole. I love checking in on your blog to see what you are up to. My buddy… classic. Take care!
Please update some more!!!
I’m with your Mom…update, update. 🙂 Thank you for my beautiful box…I love it…I can’t bring myself to unpack all the goodies yet. My six year old tried to…he usually steals the goodies he wants from inside the boxes. 🙂
